Ambrosiadou’s husband quits her company

Elena Ambrosiadou, one of the wealthiest and most successful female hedge fund managers, has seen the surprise resignation of her co-founder, chairman and chief investment officer who also happens to be her husband.
Martin Coward, a former Goldman Sachs partner who set up Ikos with his wife 17 years ago, said he wanted to move on to a “more research-focused team” which would look after family wealth. His wife said he was serving out 12 months’ notice with “goodwill.”
Last month Ambrosiadou spent £60 million buying The Maltese Falcon, the largest sailing boat in the world.
Before the financial crash she was reckoned to be the best-paid woman in London. She originally trained as a chemical engineer and became an executive for BP aged 27. She founded Ikos aged 33 with just $600,000.
